Busan Starry Sea Night Market Brings Together Food, Drinks, and Culture

The 2024 Starry Sea Busan Night Market will take place from September 21 to October 13 at the Lotus Pond area of Hwamyeong Ecological Park in Buk-gu, Busan.

This night market combines the historical significance of the Gupo Ferry, once a major trading hub, with the stunning sunset views along the Nakdong River, offering a wide range of traditional drinks, food, and activities to enhance Busan’s night tourism experience.

One of the main highlights is the “SPIRIT Busan” pop-up store, where visitors can enjoy Busan’s signature traditional liquors alongside famous traditional drinks from across the country.

There will also be pop-up booths serving cocktails made with traditional liquor and coffee cocktails. Additionally, visitors can relax at the “SUNSET Romantic Rest Area,” a scenic spot to enjoy the night views, and explore the “Gupo Food Market,” offering various local delicacies and street food.

Interactive programs include making traditional pancakes (jeon) using locally sourced ingredients, as well as a hands-on makgeolli brewing experience. There will also be yoga and earthing programs for relaxation, and children can participate in cooking classes, learning to make traditional flower pancakes and fish cake.

The market will feature a flea market with handcrafted items from local artisans, a children’s flea market, and live performances against the backdrop of the beautiful nightscape.

From October 11 to 13, the event will collaborate with the Gupo Ferry Festival, adding even more to the experience.
