Gurye Cherry Blossom Festival Opens Along 129km Blossom Trail
A Festival of Flowers and Culture Across Korea Longest ‘Gurye Cherry Blossom’ Road
The 2025 Gurye 300-ri Cherry Blossom Festival will be held from March 28 to 30 along Korea’s longest cherry blossom road, stretching 129 kilometers through Gurye County in Jeollanam-do.

As one of southern Korea’s most beloved spring destinations, the festival celebrates the beauty of nature, the richness of local culture, and the hopes and dreams of the Gurye community.

This year’s main festival venue is Seosicheon Sports Park, located at 84-11 Seosicheon-ro, Gurye-eup. The area will be transformed into a vibrant spring haven filled with cherry blossom paths, main stages, experience booths, flea markets, and food trucks, offering visitors a complete festival experience.
The festivities begin with an opening concert on March 28 at 7:00 PM, featuring performances by popular artists Park Chang-geun and Kassy.
A variety of live entertainment will follow throughout the festival, including cherry blossom busking, Korean traditional music performances, local artist showcases, and the Seomjingang Cherry Blossom Singing Contest held in nearby Muncheok-myeon.
The festival offers a wide range of interactive programs for all ages.
Visitors can take part in the Cherry Blossom Walk Stamp Tour, rent shared bicycles to ride along the Seomjingang riverside, participate in SNS photo events, enjoy giant coloring activities, and join in on bubble play zones.
Adding a cultural element, renowned history storyteller Sun Kim will give a special lecture titled “The Hidden Stories of the Blossom Path.”
The festival grounds are divided into themed spaces such as a picnic zone, a pet zone, a kids’ play and experience zone, a food truck zone, and a flea market zone—creating a relaxing and fun environment for everyone.
A standout feature of the festival is the Seomjingang Cherry Blossom Road, a picturesque 3-kilometer stretch of cherry trees planted along National Highways 17 and 19.
Established in 1992, the road was selected as one of the “100 Most Beautiful Roads in Korea” and is popular for scenic drives, walks, and even marathons.
The Seomjingang River, which flows beside the cherry blossom path, is known for its clean waters and natural biodiversity, home to over 30 freshwater species including silvery sweetfish and freshwater crabs.
Admission to the festival is free. Visitors can reach the venue by taking a bus from Gurye Intercity Bus Terminal or using a taxi to arrive at Seosicheon Sports Park.
Private cars can be parked along Seosicheon-ro or at the Gurye Public Stadium, and group buses should use the designated parking at Gurye Five-Day Market.
