A Citywide Stage: The 2025 Powerful Daegu Festival

The city of Daegu is set to come alive with color, rhythm, and community spirit as the 2025 Powerful Daegu Festival kicks off on May 10 and runs through May 11, transforming the city’s central Gukchaebosang-ro into a vibrant stage.

Recognized as one of Korea’s leading parade festivals, this annual celebration offers the nation’s largest-scale street parade, along with a dynamic array of street performances and participatory events for all ages.

With full 24-hour control of the eight-lane boulevard, the city center turns into an open stage pulsing with energy.

The festival features two main parades: The “Powerful Parade”, a global performance competition showcasing creativity and flair from international and local groups, and The “Wonderful Parade”, a non-competitive, citizen-led march inviting everyone to take part in the celebration.

In addition, the Street Arts Festival will host a variety of live street shows and K-Dance performances of international scale.

Families and visitors can also explore themed zones offering interactive experiences, creative workshops, and special May-family month activities.

The Powerful Market offers a space to relax amid the buzz, with pop-up booths, cultural showcases, and global promotional zones, making it a unique hub for shopping and networking.

Organized by the Daegu Metropolitan Government and the Daegu Foundation for Culture, this free-admission festival invites residents and tourists alike to dive into the artistic and festive soul of the city.
