Experience the Pure Nature at the 2024 Muju Firefly Festival
The 28th Muju Firefly Festival will be held from August 31 to September 8 at 326-14 Hanpung-ro, Muju-gun, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.
This festival, which symbolizes the coexistence of nature and humans through the theme of fireflies, has become a renowned cultural tourism event.
The Firefly Festival encompasses ecological themes such as culture, environment, art, and education, offering a diverse range of activities. During the festival, visitors can take shuttle buses to explore firefly habitats through the “Firefly Mystery Exploration,” participate in the “Bandi Star Picnic” to observe constellations, and enjoy traditional fireworks with the “Muju Anseong Nakwa Nori.”
Key programs include the “Firefly Mystery Exploration,” where visitors travel to firefly habitats, the “Bandi Nurikan,” which offers year-round indoor viewing of live fireflies, and the “Namdaecheon Life Plus,” a program where participants release fry into Namdaecheon Stream, learning about the importance of life.
Additional events feature the traditional fireworks show “Muju Anseong Nakwa Nori” and the “Bandi Star Picnic,” where visitors can learn about constellations with explanations from astronomical science guides.
