2024 Yeongdong Grapes Festival Kicks Off: Experience Korea’s Largest Vineyard

Yeongdong Grapes Festival, a representative event held annually at the end of August in Yeongdong, Chungcheongbuk-do, will take place this year from August 29 to September 1 at the Yeongdong Rainbow Healing Tourist Site.

Now in its 19th year, the festival celebrates Yeongdong, the largest grape-producing region in the country with 2,209 hectares of vineyards, aiming to promote its high-quality grapes nationwide.

The festival offers more than just a taste of grapes, providing a sensory-rich experience with a variety of activities.

Under the theme “Smile When You Eat Grapes, Smile When You See Grapes,” the festival features key programs such as grape sales, grape picking, and grape stomping, allowing visitors to directly participate in these unique experiences.

Additionally, visitors can enjoy hands-on activities like making wine and grape juice from freshly picked grapes, along with special events tailored for children, making it a perfect outing for families.

Throughout the festival, a wide range of events will take place, including the opening ceremony, awards for distinguished contributors, the Grape King award, a concert to support the success of the 2025 Yeongdong World Traditional Music Expo, and a charity concert for flood victims.

The festival also includes food zones with local specialties, food trucks, and various exhibits, offering visitors plenty of culinary delights and entertainment. Conveniently located near the capital region, Yeongdong is easily accessible for day trips, and while most of the festival events are free, some activities may require a fee.

Hosted by Yeongdong County, the Yeongdong Festival and Tourism Foundation, and the Yeongdong Grape Association, the Yeongdong Grape Festival is expected to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy while providing an unforgettable experience for all visitors.
